Barton Farm Primary School: Defect Free Handover
Barton Farm Primary School was awarded Defect Free Handover by client Willmott Dixon. A2O were appointed to install the SFS and larch rainscreen for this £8.5m Eco-school.
The 420-student capacity school was designed by award-winning Hampshire County Council architects. The first academy for Winchester, the new building is one of the most sustainable schools in Hampshire and achieved an excellent BREEAM rating. The building was completed September 2020. Nick Collett, Principal Architect, Hampshire County Council Property Services and Nicola Wells, Head Teacher said: “The quality of the build is exceptional especially within the hidden construction behind the finishes you see. The supply chain partners have been excellent with genuine relationships being made. Throughout the CV19 crisis great efforts were made to accommodate all and keep all working safely on site. The team are incredibly supportive, very willing and have gone over and above what was expected” See Case Study.
